Inn collaboration with the Verrev foundation and commissioned by the municipality of Hengelo, 12 street art artists painted gilded containers. The theme was; Hengelo in the past, present and future. Several stylish expressions have been made that are related to this theme.
For the Hengelo theme; "the past, the present and the future", I did chose the old dilapidated brewery in Hengelo. This is because I have photographed lost glory and abandoned places in Europe for a long time. From dilapidated factories, to old castles and, for example, empty farms.
I chose the fox also because the animal used to be common in the vicinity of Hengelo and the province of Overijssel. I think this is a nice addition to the historical image of this timeperiod. Besides that I like to paint animals and nature landscapes.
The added cornfield is the reference for the production of beer, as is the golden-yellow beer-like atmosphere of the low-hanging sun. The whole atmosphere of this street art painting has a modern feel of an old painting, where the red fox is going well with the rosy tinted architecture of the brewery.
